Functionalization Strategies of PEDOT and PEDOT:PSS Films for Organic Bioelectronics Applications

Organic bioelectronics involves the connection of organic semiconductors with living organisms, organs, tissues, cells, membranes, proteins, and even small molecules. In recent years, this field has received great interest due to development all kinds devices architectures, enabling detection several relevant biomarkers, stimulation sensing cells recording electrophysiological signals, among others. review, we discuss functionalization approaches for PEDOT PEDOT:PSS films aim integrating biomolecules fabrication platforms. As choice strategy is determined by conducting polymer synthesis method, initially preparation methods are presented. Later, a wide variety discussed, together bioconjugation techniques develop efficient organic-biological interfaces. Finally, making use these approaches, different platforms towards reviewed.
